Friends of the Houston Public Library Book Sale 2010

Hell yeah. Let -FUPPETS- yell that again. HELL YEAH!!!!!!
It is time once again, ladies and gentlemen, for Houston's greatest book sale of the year. The Friends of The Houston Public Library gather up donated books and discarded copies from the many libraries in the Houston Public Library system and organize them for a yearly blow-out sale at the George R. Brown Convention Center every year! What more can a bibliophile ask for?
-FUPPETS- looks forward to this every year. Here are the particulars.

Friday, April 23, 4:30pm - 9pm (Member's Preview Sale. You have to be a member of the HPL to get in on Friday evening, but this is when the most valuable books are sold. These would include large art books, history, rare novels, etc. Memberships are available at the door, if you are hardcore, for $20. Do not worry, TONS of great books remain for Saturday and Sunday.)
Saturday, April 24, 9am - 5pm (Most books are under $2.00. Hardbacks are $2 and paperbacks are $1. Tons of children's books.)
Sunday, April 25, 11am - 4pm (This is the motherload. The volunteers will hand you a paper grocery bag and you can fill it with as many books as it will hold, and you buy those books for $10. A measly $10!!!! Amazing deals abound. Everyone loves "Bag Day!")

So, if you fancy books, and you like a good deal, head to downtown Houston this weekend. Not only is the Book Sale going on, but the Houston International Festival is also in full swing on the west side of downtown.
