Free Press Summer Fest 2010!

-FUPPETS- is in deep anticipation for this year's edition of the Free Press Summer Fest, brought to you by the good folks at the Free Press Houston, the only newsweekly that matters.
The 2010 edition of the Free Press Summer Fest is going to be outrageous! It takes place Friday June 5th and Saturday June 6th at Eleanor Tinsley Park, right next to downtown Houston TX, from Noon to 10 PM. This will be the second Summer Fest, and if it is anywhere near as great as last year it will indeed be a memorable weekend!

Here is the good word directly from the bad-asses at the FPH.

After the unprecedented success of Houston’s first outdoor music festival, Free Press Houston and Pegstar.net are proud to announce the Free Press Summer Fest 2010. Last summer’s event showcased everything from local indie rockers to national touring bands like Of Montreal and Broken Social Scene. This music and arts festival will be held June 5th and 6th at Buffalo Bayou's Eleanor Tinsley Park and will feature more than 50+ national and local musical performers, visual arts and games. Confirmed to headline this year is the Grammy Award winning band The Flaming Lips - and that’s just the beginning! The festival is expanding its horizons to include a more diverse array of both national and regional acts. And though the overall lineup is incorporating a wider geographic range – Houston’s finest musicians will continue to play a vital role in creating and maintaining the unique spirit of the Summer Fest. 2010’s festival welcomes the addition of a third stage and an exciting expansion of the scope and area of artist installations. In addition to the array of sights and sounds, festival-goers can take a break from the heat and browse dozens of local artisan booths, cool off in one of the misting tents and grab an icy cold adult beverage in the shaded beer garden. Free water will be made available for all and Greenie Recycling of Montrose will be processing recyclable materials. Pre-sale general admission passes will begin at only $22.50 and the “Fancy Pants” 2-day package is available to those looking for a more comfortable festival experience with access to air-conditioned tents for just a little more money.
