De La Soul Means "From The Soul"

A few weeks ago, VH1 presented another in it's series of shows titled "VH1 Hip Hop Honors." This time, among other groups and rappers like Too $hort, Cypress Hill, and -FUPPETS- favorite Slick Rick Da Ruler, A.K.A. MC Ricky D, one of the greatest, most innovative acts in hip hop was rightfully respected. Of course, this refers to

DE LA SOUL

-FUPPETS- has finally unearthed the video clip. The first part is a look back on De La Soul's career by the fellas themselves, Posdnuos, Mace, and Trugoy the Dove (otherwise known as Dave). Around the 3:50 mark is the greatest part though, as a slew of fucking awesome rappers come onstage to pay tribute to De La Soul, by dropping a mad medley of De La classics.
The list of MC's paying tribute is astounding. Chuck D and Flava Flav from Public Enemy, Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith from EPMD, Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, who made his first appearance on a De La Soul album, and Cee Lo, among others. Of course, manning the steel wheels is DJ Prince Paul.
It is a fucking jam. Stakes is High.
